2. What we collect and why
When you send a business inquiry through the contact form we receive your full name, your company name (optional), your country, your e-mail address, the category you choose and your message. The form also records the language version of the page you used. We use this information only to read and answer your inquiry. We do not use it for newsletters, advertising, profiling or automated decisions.
3. Legal basis
We process your inquiry on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering business inquiries and, where you ask about a possible commercial relationship, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR).
4. How your inquiry is handled
Your inquiry is sent as an e-mail to our inquiry mailbox. The website does not keep a copy in its database. For a few minutes after you send the form, a temporary record lets the next page show the result (and, after an error, your entries so you can correct them); it then expires. To limit abuse, the site counts submissions per connection using a protected (hashed) form of your IP address; the counter expires after at most one hour.
5. How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact with you and then delete them.
6. Who receives the data
Recipients are our staff who answer inquiries and our service providers: GoDaddy, which hosts the website in a European data center and operates the mail relay that sends the form e-mail, and the provider of our company e-mail service.
Our hosting provider belongs to a group based in the United States, so personal data may be accessed from outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers must be covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, for example standard contractual clauses.
7. Cookies
The website itself sets no cookies for visitors and uses no analytics or advertising cookies. The content delivery network of our hosting provider may set one technical security cookie (named __cf_bm) that lasts about 30 minutes and is used only to protect the site against automated abuse; it is not used to track you.
8. Google Maps
The Contact and Brands & Markets pages offer a Google map. It loads only when you press “Show map”; Google then receives your IP address and browser information under Google’s own privacy policy. Links such as “Get directions” open Google when you click them.
9. Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, for example our online stores. They have their own privacy notices.
10. Server logs
Our hosting provider records technical access logs (IP address, browser, page requested, time) to run and secure the website, according to its own retention schedule.
11. Your rights
You may ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of or objection to its processing, and portability where they apply, and you may withdraw consent where processing is based on it. Write to info@cosmobelge.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels).
